Additional Math Program

amathsStudents will learn both mathematical concepts and effective methods in solving A.Maths problems.

In addition, students will be given access to our http://www.learnbrill.com portal. Our video solutions is an additional tool for students to learn and revise, anywhere on any device.

Our  A.Maths Schedule is here. Course fees will be pro-rated.

The topics covered are as follows:

ALGEBRA

  • Equations and inequalities (Sec 3)
  • Indices and surds (Sec 3)
  • Polynomials and Partial Fractions (Sec 3)
  • Binomial expansions (Sec 3)
  • Power, Exponential, Logarithmic, and Modulus functions (Sec 3)

GEOMETRY AND TRIGONOMETRY

  • Trigonometric functions, identities and equations (Sec 3 and 4)
  • Coordinate geometry in two dimensions (Sec 3)
  • Proofs in plane geometry (Sec 4)

CALCULUS

  • Differentiation and integration (Sec 4)

Note:  main differences between the new (4047) and old (4038) syllabus:

  • In Trigonometry, not in syllabus : Factor Formula or its reverse, the Product Formula.
  • In Geometry, not in syllabus : Intercept, Intersecting chord and Tangent-secant theorem.
  • In Algebra, not in syllabus : the inverse matrix method of solving simultaneous equations.
  • In Power, Exponential, Logarithmic, and Modulus functions : power functions y = axn where n is a simple rational number, and their graphs are included in the new syllabus
  • In Algebra, sum and differences of cubes in Polynomials are included in the new syllabus
