We continue our discussion on learning fraction, ratios and percentages by studying the question below;

This is a P6 SA2 question. It is relatively simple. How would you solve it?

Nellie plans to make 340 bands to sell at a bazaar. Each day, she will make 4 more bands than the previous day. She plans to complete the bands in 5 days. How many bands does Nellie plan to make on the first day?


Using algebraic notation would be a neat way to present it. However for primary school students, we could also use a unit to communicate the same idea.
