Question for Thought

18 Oct

For students who are preparing for their year end math exam, here is a question to practise at your own time.

This question is pitched at Primary 5 level.

Q.  In a food stall, a hawker prepared packets of chicken rice and duck rice in the ratio of 11 : 6.  Every hour, 24 packets of duck rice and 42 packets of chicken rice were sold.  There were 28 packets of chicken rice left in the stall when all the packets of duck rice were sold.  How many more packets of chicken rice than packets of duck rice did the hawker prepare?
