Dear Parik,

these are the questions your mum emailed us,

1) A shopkeeper sold 837 candies on the first day. The next day, he sold 60% of the remaining candies. As a result, the number of     candies left became 1/7 of the number of candies at first. How many candies did the shopkeeper had at first?

2) In an examination, 92% of the candidates passed. 72 of the failures were boys and 3/5 of the failures were girls. 1380 girls passed the examination.
What was the total number of pupils who sat for the examination?
What percentage of the candidates who passed the examination were boys?
