      some marbeles are share among 3boys.Aaron’s share 3/4 of Brian’s share and Brian’s share is 4/5 of Charle’s share. If Aaron and Brian have a toatl 56 marbles altogether.How many marbles do the 3 boys have in all?

    A : B : C
    3 : 4 : 5

    A+B —> 7 u —-> 56
    1 u —-> 8
    Altogether: 12 u —> 12 x 8 = 96 marbles

    heyy auntie persis,
    im claire, i used to b in yr math class for P6?
    im having trouble with on how to inverse a fraction.. i can inverse a expression but not so sure on fractions.
    like for an example,
    f(x)=1/ 3x+4

      Hi, Claire,
      I suppose you are asking about how to inverse a function in the form of a fraction. There is a general method to inverse a function. First we let y=f(x), and then we try to express x in terms of y. For example, f(x) = \frac{1}{3x+4}
      let \frac {1}{3x+4} = y, then express y in terms of x.
      Thus, we have
      1 = 3xy+4y
      1-4y= 3xy
      \frac{1-4y}{3y} = x
      f^{-1}(y) = \frac{1-4y}{3y}.
      Then we change everything from y to x by convention, we have
      f^{-1}(x) = \frac{1-4x}{3x}.
      That would be your inverse function to the original function.
